Team
Bray Ready for New Year
As
the team's 1st event for the New Year fast approaches, Victor and
Ben can't wait to get back on the track.
"It
has been too long since our last event," Ben said with an impatient
grin. "I just want to get the 2nd half of the season started."
"I
had a great start to the season picking up the Top Qualifying spot
and low ET points in Sydney, but unfortunately in Perth I damaged
the engine that gave me my 5 second passes."(Ben has rebuilt
his damaged 5 second engine and has built an identical bullet for
Victor.)
"It
was a shame that Ben damaged his engine over in Perth but it did
answer a question for us that the bigger cubed combination is not
the way for us to go" Victor remarked.
"We
have got 11 other very good car and driver combinations to contend
with this week end. That means 5 teams will be spectators on Saturday.
I have watched enough Drag racing from the stands over the years
and I am not particularly interested in doing that this week end."
"I'm
still having trouble with my finger that was severed off in the
accident at Bathurst. I'm unable to pick up some items due to my
inability to get a good grip on them, but lets hope I can punch
the old Chevy thought the gears okay. We will be having a much subdued
New Years Eve celebrations this year as we need to be fast from
the 1st Qualifying session."
With
current day time temperatures knocking on the door of 40 deg c everybody
will need a tune up. This is not usually a pre-requisite.
"Troy
Critchley has come home to Brisbane for Christmas and I have been
able to spend some time with him, and have picked up a couple of
interesting tips on how his team in the USA approach racing in hot
and sticky conditions," Victor said.
Top Doorslammer qualifying gets underway at 5pm with results being
